DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – Sometimes you want to grab coffee, work, and eat a fresh, made-to-order meal that isn’t microwaved. Cafes continue to elevate their menus and Verve Coffee Roasters are the latest to join us.
âI want them to be like, ‘Wow, this is a whole new level of coffee,’ said Chef Maruo Tolentino.

Verve’s new roast in downtown Los Angeles is changing the way we think about a cup of coffee and a snack.
Chef Tolentino brings his worldly skills to the cafe’s cooking. During his career he traveled across South East Asia learning various techniques. This is what attracted him to Verve. The people behind roasting constantly travel the world in search of the best coffee.
âI kind of had the same approach and philosophy to cooking and applying to cooking and the techniques that we use, so it matched. It wasn’t too much of a stretch,â said Tolentino.
The menu of his cafe is refined and detailed, some dishes being tested for months.
âWhen you pay attention to all these details, the end result is undeniable. It’s going to be good, âTolentino said.
We can’t forget the coffee. There’s an on-site rotisserie and you can order from your typical selections, but Verve has also created a signature cocktail menu.
âOur mission behind the program is to really focus on the fact that we can produce these taste experiences for people who don’t contain alcohol,â said Joshua Agbayani, Signature Beverage Coordinator.
From rosé-flavored tea to an old-fashioned version, have an energetic experience.
âWe wanted to showcase the combination of the work they put into the cafe and we wanted to match that on the same side with the food,â says Tolentino.
